Meet Our Teachers
Al
Al was a public school teacher for 33 years and holds a BA, BEd, and an MA. His teaching career started at Princess Elizabeth School as a Special Education teacher. From there he taught at: Lorne Jr High, St Mac’s and Saint John High School. For the past five years he has been teaching with Saint John Kings Adult Learning. His favourite subject is History.

Jen
With 30 years of teaching experience, 10 of which have been in Adult Education, Jen always makes time to provide one-on-one help and instruction for those who need it. She says, “Nothing has ever matched the thrill of helping someone kickstart their future when they successfully complete their tests. Seeing my learners at our annual Graduation Ceremony is the highlight of my teaching year.”

Tara
Francis
Francis has a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education degrees. He taught Middle School academic subjects for 35 years. He also taught Summer School for a number of those years. After retirement he supply taught at the University of New Brunswick English Language Program. He began his night class in November 2024. He finds it interesting and enjoyable.

Mathias
George
George has been with SJKALI for two years helping learners in our Digital Literacy program develop essential computer skills that are needed in today’s workplace. He is a seasoned IT professional and computer trainer with over 30 years experience in classroom instruction and corporate training. He has worked for private sector training companies, software development firms and in the contact centre industry. He enjoys working with our learners to help them build their skills and knowledge in technology.

Megan
Megan has been teaching the Digital Literacy Program with Saint John Kings since 2022. She loves being able to help people understand the nuances of computers. Megan also helps with the marketing and website at SJKALI.
Megan travels to Sussex, St. Stephen, and St. George once a week to teach in classrooms in these communities. |
Jenn
Jennifer teaches in our Sussex classroom. Her classroom is bright and spacious, ready to welcome students from all backgrounds. The building is wheelchair accessible, and right beside Tim Horton's.
Jennifer grew up in the Sussex area and got her teaching degree at UNB. Her favourite subject is Math, and she has been teaching with the Adult Learning Program for over 10 years. |
Carla
Carla teaches at the John Howard Society in uptown Saint John, which can hold up to 8 learners. Her classroom is always brightly coloured with soothing fish tanks all around the room, creating a homey classroom atmosphere. She offers home-cooked breakfast with a holistic approach to learning.
